Weeks 27-30

I wonder what will be the first thing that pops into your head as you see a new post on this blog.  I'd imagine it would be something like, "It's about #&$*@( time." or "HE'S ALIVE!  ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE!  TO THE BUNKER!"

My aunt has enjoyed rubbing the fact that I solemly promised not to fall behind again in my face.  A lot.

So here are the pictures.  You'll notice that the sketch for week 30 is missing.  That's a failing on my aunt's part.  Oh the irony.  It's here now.

High Dive

The best part about Grace Island.  The high dive.  Although, compared with bungee jumping this thing is just...well...a small half-step.  This year I went for the trifecta...and...well...the layout wasn't as good as I wanted it to be but...it wasn't bad.  Jordan, who you can see trying to gather the nerve to do a front flip, did eventually do it but Patrick got bored with filming before then and left.  Also, when Abigail jumped it was the third time that girl had not gone with her.  In total she probably spent fifteen minutes standing on the edge not quite ready to go...and at least an hour standing around waiting in line to go decide not to jump.

And yes, I had to put in my oh-so-helpful reply to that other guy's question (who also did do a front and back flip...just not on film).

Baby Longtail!

On Monday I got to go to Grace Island, one of the many islands in the Bermudian archipelago.  Hooray for long weekends!  One of the (many) things I did while there was find (okay okay...get shown) a longtail nest with a baby in it.  But for the fact that the mother is not ejecting it from the nest, one could hardly tell it was in fact a longtail.  It just looks like a ball of white fuzz with eyes and a beak.  It also made a noise very much like that of a squeaky toy, furthering the impression that it was a plushie, rather than a live bird.

The question is, why am I not just putting in pictures?

They're certainly well tucked in...

My aunt went back later...and found the nest lacking any adult bird.  I think she wins.  Expect to see that picture in the weekly post at the end of this week (that is in fact inferring that I will be caught up by then).

Ultimate Frisbee

A post!  Will wonders never cease?

Weeks 22 and 23 coming soon.  I promise.  And hopefully I'll wrap up the New Zealand trip (still haven't finished).

But here are some pictures from Ultimate Frisbee.  One of the players was injured so, as he happens to be an avid photographer, he took pictures instead.  Here are some of them.  Click here to see the whole album (which may or may not have pictures of me making weird faces mid-play).

Yes he caught it.

Frisbee is just out of frame to the left.

Defending someone six inches taller is never easy.
The one time I beat him and tip it away it gets caught by the guy in white.  For a score.
